REMOTE TUCSON
WELCOME COMMITTEE
Led by Tucson Young Professionals and Startup Tucson, the Remote Tucson Welcome Committee is a group of diverse Tucsonans that assist Remote Tucson program participants as they consider making Tucson their next home!
Members of the Welcome Committee are from a variety of backgrounds and professions, live in different parts of town and have tons of unique personal interests and perspectives on our city.
Members of this Committee will help to field questions about what it’s like to live, work, and play here in Southern Arizona and will help new residents as they get settled into their new life.
About the Welcome Committee
This Committee is designed to help provide support to those considering relocating to Tucson while they are exploring what our city has to offer and once they arrive. Ideal Committee members love this community and are interested in being Ambassadors for why Tucson should be their choice for their next home.
As a Committee Member, you will help Tucson Young Professionals and Startup Tucson with the following:
-
Fielding questions from potential applicants on what it’s like to live, work, and play here in Tucson by taking the occasional phone call or drafting an email response
-
Promoting the program as a direct Ambassador to your networks locally and nationally -- specifically trying to make sure the word gets out to friends of friends that would be in our ideal target group
-
Becoming a “buddy” for someone that is selected within the program and offered a spot in the pilot. Once paired, you will help connect them with additional resources while they prepare to move and make sure they feel plugged in and supported after they arrive
After being selected for the Welcome Committee, asks for support will be communicated by email from TYP/Startup Tucson so that you can volunteer your support or advice when you are able. Expect to commit approximately 1-2 hours a month.
