At Startup Tucson, we were honored to host Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs for a pivotal round table discussion that brought together key partners from Southern Arizona’s vibrant small business ecosystem. This gathering was not only a testament to our collective commitment to entrepreneurship but also a significant opportunity to discuss the ways in which state support can amplify our impact.
On September 26th, Governor Hobbs joined us at our facility, where she engaged with leaders from various organizations dedicated to bolstering small businesses, including the Tucson Industrial Development Authority, YWCA Southern Arizona, and the City of Tucson. Together, we shared insights into our ongoing projects and the innovative strategies we are employing to enhance access to capital and ensure entrepreneurial success across the region.
The round table proved to be a constructive forum for dialogue, with Governor Hobbs actively listening and inquiring about how further state involvement could benefit our initiatives, including our new Rooted in Arizona alternative lending program for Indigenous Entrepreneurs.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Governor Hobbs for her presence and engagement, and to her dedicated team, including Marisol Flores-Aguirre, Nathalia Untiveros, and policy aide Ian O’Grady, for their roles in facilitating this important discussion. Their commitment to understanding and supporting the local business landscape is deeply appreciated.
As we continue to build and innovate within Tucson’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, the insights and suggestions from this round table will undoubtedly influence our strategies moving forward. We are inspired by the potential for continued collaboration with state leaders to drive economic growth and support the passionate entrepreneurs who call Southern Arizona home.
Events like these reinforce the power of partnership and dialogue in achieving collective goals. We are proud to have hosted such a significant event and look forward to the positive changes that will stem from this day of thoughtful exchange.
